Garden Expo

Quite a busy week of fun and work, and now finally pictures are being posted. My talented partner in life Cedric Smith created a beautiful painting for the Historic Savannah Foundation and the lovely Garden Expo Preview Party. We set up a tent on the beautiful grounds of the Trustees' Garden amongst chickens, and everything related to gardens. It was a delightful evening with old friends and new.

Boys and burlap. Two of my favorite things!

See me helping!

The set up continues.

Flowers, wine, water, friends, and art make for a beautiful evening.

Your Secret

Swiss and French video-artist Jean-Sébastien Monzani has produced the most cheer filled, simplistic video that reminds us to take pause in our hectic, stress filled days. It drives us to refocus and to bring beautiful thoughts into the forefront of our minds.

One Classy Dame

"Pragmatic romantic and classy dame" is how Elizabeth Novak describes herself. She recreates a time of an America when merit badges were cool, and everyone comes home with the blue ribbon. Her jewelry is fun, imaginative, and downright clever with a youthful vibe.

Perfect gift for Mommies Day next month!

April Showers Adjustable Ring
I have been umbrella crazed lately; perhaps, due to the intense storms Savannah produces.
Hen Adjustable Ring
I love the vintage feel to it.

She also has some really cool state rings. I am going to keep checking in with her, with the hopes of an Ohio ring making an appearance in her shop one day soon.

Kate Spade & Adeline Adeline

Several years a go Cedric surprised me with a bubble gum pink bicycle that had the most lovely wicker basket. It sits in my hallway and is kind enough to hold clothes for me. This video has me in the mood to inflate her tires, remove the clothing from her pretty basket and take her for a spin. It also serves as a reminder to try out my cookbook Babycakes that my bestest gal pal bought me.

I don't own a Kate Spade handbag. My birthday is in a month. I'm taking early birthday presents.

Anthropologie Obsessesd

Ever since Amelie first appeared in my existence, the combination of greens and reds have sent me in a whirlwind of plans and endless daydreams of creating my own "Amelie" like room all tied together with a pig lamp. This latest photograph from Anthropologie catapults me back into the frenzied need to make my nook a reality. Also, I'm loving this ensemble. I'm typically a skirt or dress kind of gal but this feminine top has me second guessing my wardrobe choices.

Bows

Bow ties make my tummy tingle. The geeky coolness and confidence that it takes a man to rock a bow tie and pocket square is beyond sexy. Pierrepont Hicks has some wonderful finds and their philosphy is as follows:

PH is both explorer + city-gent.
He’s an angler, a storyteller, a student + a teacher.

He’s attentive, assured, discerning.

He is tough to read, easy to remember.
PH prefers dusk to dawn, books to television,
dunes to the bay, rowboats to motors, woodfiregrills to charcoal, trout to tuna, listening to talking.

He lives life in the presence of good manners.

He holds the door, rises for a lady and tips his hat.

PH was once overheard saying:
“The prettiest thing in the world, is a ship at the end of a street.”
The Pierrepont Hicks man  is a modern classic. He’s ageless.

And he always takes a running leap off the dock.
